I have never felt comfortable taking risks if I can not clearly see the path I have to walk through to get somewhere. Having all the scenarios analysed and a plan A, B, C … Z in case something does not go as planned, has always played a very important part of how I live my life. And it still is, with the difference that I now understand the power of imperfect action to move forward.

Becoming an entrepreneur has taught me the power of imperfect action and the importance of leaving perfectionism behind if we really want to move forward. It has helped me feel more comfortable about taking risks, stepping outside my comfort zone and trusting that I can do it. I have learned that “success is access to information” and if we are willing to learn something new every day even when it means learning from our mistakes, we are building our path to success.

Let me be clear here. I am not saying “do not plan” or “leave your job today to start your own business tomorrow”. In fact, the amazing Marie Forleo  says “Getting a job never means you are giving up on your dream”, and I could not agree more with that. What I am saying is that more often than not, you will not be 100% clear of what you want to do and the steps you have to take to get to where you want to go until you actually take action on it and believe that you can do it.

On a recent interview Cailen Ascher had with Jasmine Star (branding + marketing strategist and photographer) , she asked Jasmine how starting her first business as a photographer “laid the groundwork for the business she has now”. She confessed that what helped her get clarity on the business she has now was actually jumping into it: “Jump and the net will appear”

This is a photo of when I registered my business name: Colabora in Feb 2016. Back then I thought I was going to start a HR consultancy firm based on collaboration. I did not have idea of how I was going to do it. All I had was a vision: help people create more human and customer focused businesses through collaboration.

In Feb 2017, I finally launched my business Colabora, a space to learn how to create stronger communities and build magnetic, authentic and sustainable businesses focused on collaboration rather than competition. My passion is to educate, support, inspire, connect and empower women with entrepreneurial and collaborative spirit to thrive through business collaboration.

As you can see, the initial biz idea changed and evolved over time but the essence is still the same. Having a clear vision aligned with my values, my purpose and my passion was all I needed to jump into it. Everything else did fall into place along the journey 💓– I am sure it will continue to evolve and change but the essence will always be the same  #collaborationforsucces
